Dynamics of passenger traffic in December and summary of 2021

The main challenge in the field of civil aviation remains a pandemic, but unlike 2020, 2021 turned out to be quite fruitful and Georgian Civil Aviation Agency considers this year as the year with the first positive results.

During 2021, Eurowings, Bees Airline, FlyArystan, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Middle East Airlines, Air Manas entered the Georgian aviation market. A total of 16 new destinations were added and by 2021, Georgia International Airports served 2,489,435 passengers. This is a 200% increase compared to 2020 and at the same time means a 48% return of passenger traffic before the pandemic period.

Specifically, in December 2021, Georgian National Airports registered 258,707 passengers and operated 1,444 international and local fligths.
