Batumi Terminal

Fuel storage and service infrastructure in Batumi

From the planning and functional point of view, Jet Fuel Station of Gulf aviation serves also as an aviation fuel warehouse that receives, stores, and delivers aviation fuel with dispensers for the refueling of airlines in Batumi International Airport.

Our jet fuel station is separated by fence from the territory of Batumi International Airport, where the entry/exit of fuel dispensers and fuel tankers is carried out through two gates. The fire safety requirements for “oil and oil product warehouses” SP-155.13130, 2014th edition was used for the station planning.

The project of the aircraft refueling station was agreed with all regulatory and supervisory authorities and built according to all local safety regulations and international standards (API, JIG).

The total capacity of fuel tanks is 400m3, which includes two 150m3 and one 100m3 above-ground vertical steel cylindrical tanks, intended for receiving and distributing aviation fuel JET A-1 and TS-1.

The capacity of the fuel tanks meets the maximum operating volume requirements of the terminal, taking into account the fuel supplying and preventive tank cleaning works. The reservoirs have a conical bottom with a suitable slope and a drainage pipe with suitable valves to remove water and sediment. Each fuel tank is equipped with 2 special hatches, as well as two-way intake-output special piping. The fuel inlet-outlet pipes are separated from each other and join the tank near the bottom.

The inner and outer walls of the reservoirs are sand-blasted (the metal surfaces are sand-blasted), each of them is painted in a special way with anti-corrosive, two-component chemical-resistant paint and equipped with a special valve device that dispenses fuel from the surface of the tank.

Fuel reservoirs and reservoir park are equipped with: floating suction devices, pressure-vacuum valves, hydraulic pressure relief, thermal valves (PRV, TRV), pipeline high pressure transfer/relief valves, spark preventers, high pressure emergency valves, automatic and mechanical measuring devices (ATG),
anti-overfill systems (Fafnir Overfill Protection High/High), closed vessels for visual inspection, sampling points, quick-closing electric valves to prevent fuel overflow/spill, drain pipe, special (Explosion Proof) manometers (glycerin), mechanical alarm buttons, pump cut-off buttons,
carbon gas detector, navigation lights, etc. The inner surface of the reservoir piping is factory-coated with an anti-corrosive epoxy paint.

All reservoirs and pipelines are appropriately labeled and color coded to identify fuel type it contains. The jet fuel station is equipped with filtration system of FACET’s production.

Fuel storage procedures and internal technical documentation/checklists are in full compliance with International Air Transport Association – IATA requirements.

The procedure for refueling airliners is carried out according to the International Air Transport Association IATA guidelines and standard procedures for on-board fueling, level 1 / level 2. Gulf Aviation jet fuel station is operated by qualified employees with many years of professional experience.
