Productive summer and a significant increase in passengers flow

According to GCAA, during the 7 months of 2022, Georgian International Airports served a total of 2,252,973 passengers, which is 128% more compared to the same period of 2021, and the recovery of passenger flow compared to the pre-period period is 74%.

In the first 7 months of this year, Tbilisi International Airport served 1,517,941 passengers. The increase compared to the same period of 2021 is 122%. Also, Tbilisi International Airport returned by 67% to the number of passengers recorded in 2019.

As for Kutaisi International Airport, according to the data, it served 422,000 passengers during the last 7 months, which is 478% more compared to the same period of 2021, and the Batumi International Airport served a total of 231,242 passengers, which is a 35% increase compared to 2021. Therefore, according to GCAA Kutaisi International Airport recovered 94% of the passenger flow compared to the pre-pandemic figures.

In total, the international airports of Georgia fulfilled 10,852 international flights, which include both regular flights and charters. The dynamics of flight recovery compared to the period of 2019 is 70%. Also, the use of the country’s airspace increased by 46%. Overall, Georgia has already succeeded and regained 80% of the international visitors compared to the pre-pandemic period.
