According to the data summarized by the State Civil Aviation Agency, in 2023 the airports of Georgia served 6,013,995 passengers in total with the regular and non-regular flights, which is a record figure for the country and a 36% increase compared to the same period of 2022.
Tbilisi International Airport served a total of 3,694,052 passengers in 2023, which is 23% more than in 2022. 1,671,203 passengers were transported through Kutaisi International Airport, and this figure represents a 110% increase compared to 2022. Batumi International Airport served a total of 621,514 passengers, which is a 0.75% increase compared to the same period of 2022.
As for the local destination airports, the data for 2023 looks like this: Mestia Airport served 10,217 passengers, which is 9% more than in 2022, Ambrolauri Airport received 2,225 passengers, which is 16% lower than in 2022, and Natakhtari Airport recorded 14,784 passengers, that is also a 16% decrease.
In 2023, a total of 26,290 flights were carried out at Georgian airports, form which the number of regular flights was 21,280, and the number of charter flights was 5,010. All this is a 23% increase compared to 2022. According to the mentioned data, Wizz Air is the leader in the aviation market of Georgia. The airline has a 21% market share and carried a total of 1,270,737 passengers in 2023.
As of January 2024, 43 airlines operate in Georgian International Airports with 89 different destinations.
